This past weekend revolved around meals. After months of European cuisine, I was craving for Asian food.  Because my favorite ramen restaurant retired, I tried a new place in Burlingame a fellow blogger recommended.  Burlingame is a little far from where I live so I’m somewhat relieved that I didn’t fall in love with the ramen there.  (Sorry!)  And so my quest for a perfect bowl of ramen continues.

Another weekend meal involved going to Daly City, just south of San Francisco, for dimsum.  Then there were also two trips to a new yogurt place a friend introduced me to.  I had to remind myself that at 80kcal per serving I’d gain 1lb in a month if I continued to frequent everyday.

Now that I’m back in the Bay Area it’s driving driving driving everywhere.  Although I’m happy to be able to wear high heels again, I won’t be walking as much and losing weight will require some conscious effort.  So I explored a new hiking trail over the weekend as well. This trail starts from the back of a local winery and is rather secluded.  There was a sign warning about mountain lions, but I was fairly certain the cute little doe I saw leaping across the trail was more dinner-worthy than I was.  Just in case though I’ll be careful in the future, exactly how I’m not so sure.

For now I’m piggybacking off of my brother’s social calendar.  So I also went to dinner with my brother and his friend over the weekend.  My brother admitted discomfort in the post-dinner review at home; he said I behaved unnaturally well.  I’m not sure what he means by that.  Although my eyes may have lit up and my smile a tad broader when my brother’s friend said he was on the water polo team in high school, I thought my brother would’ve at least appreciated my not mentioning how water polo team pictures were my favorite yearbook pages in high school.  Oh, no, not my ungrateful brother.  He apparently doesn’t have faith in my self-control and is actually contemplating not letting me tag along on his next social event this weekend.

When I was wandering about yesterday I noticed that some stores were already displaying and selling pumpkins.  The weather was so beautiful – in the mid-80’s and with a light cooling breeze – I forgot it was Autumn Equinox.
